NWS will therefore keep on striving for continuous improvement in Safety by:

• Setting clear Health and Safety objectives, requirements and targets.
• Strong Leadership from management at all levels, with visible active commitment by engaging the workforce in the promotions & achievements of health and Safety.
• Creating awareness and competence amongst the workforce regarding health and safety by implementing measures like Induction Training, On-Job Training, Tool box talk, Safety pledge.
•  Abide by all statutory and other obligations related to health and safety.
• Adopt proactive approach directed towards prevention of ill-health and personal injuries.
• Identify the hazardous conditions and practices by conducting health and safety inspections, surveys and audits at regular intervals.
• Develop, implement and maintain Safe Operating Procedures for all critical activities for ensuring health and safety of workers.
• Identify all near-miss situations which may result into ill-health or personal injury and rectify them before occurrence of any incident.
• The involvement & participation of all concerned including workers in health and safety management through safety committees meetings and by other suitable means.
• Establish, implement and maintain Good housekeeping practices at our all work areas.
• The availability and usage of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
• Investigate all near-miss incidents/cases of ill-health to identify the root causes and taking all preventive measures to avert recurrence of similar incidents or other foreseen incidents.
• Managing and supervising supplier and contractors to ensure they meet our NWS health and safety requirements while supplying or providing services to us.
• Globally promote best practices sharing throughout the business in line with health and safety annual awards.
• Allocating adequate means and resources to meet the commitments of this policy.

All employees, at all levels in the company, are responsible for their own safety and must watch over that of others, whether they be colleagues, employees of external companies or third parties.

As Safety is a line management responsibility, I would like to ask all managers to ensure these principle are communicated, explained, implemented and monitored on the sites /by the teams under their managements.

All these obligations are an integral part of our profession and the results obtained contained contributed to the assessment of our individual and collective performance.

I know I can count on all of you to uphold these standards. I will personally do my utmost to ensure all employees adhere to these Commitments within NWS.
